About the Performers
Picture
Jam Pak Blues ‘N Grass
Youth Blues and Bluegrass
Performing Saturday and Sunday 10 AM - 11 AM

With twenty-eight years performing and teaching in the bluegrass world of Arizona, many folks know the story of Jam Pak. Somehow, some way, enfolded in the love of music, community, food, travel, and love itself, this unique band of all ages, races, and walks of life makes bluegrass music. In the home of Anni Beach of Chandler, they teach each other, gather twice a week, practice, dance, entertain, and at the center, maintain the singular goal to make themselves and others happy with their music. The band is ever grateful for the wonderful venues, the donations of instruments and other needs, and the constant encouragement from the bluegrass community of Arizona.

Cabin John
Folk & Bluegrass
Performing Saturday and Sunday 11 AM - 11:30 AM

Cabin John is based on the charm of two old and two young people who love to play traditional-style bluegrass music. Howard Anderson, whom we like to call Mr. Bluegrass, and his wife Susan hosted weekly jams in their home for 35 years. Many people got their bluegrass wings right in their living room. Howard joined the Jam Pak Blues ‘N’ Grass Neighborhood Band as a banjo coach and mentor many years ago and continues to support the band in these ways. Seven years ago he formed a small band from members of Jam Pak which now include Alan Moreno on guitar, Nazarena Delgado on bass and banjo, Anni Beach on mandolin, and Howard on banjo. This band plays straight out traditional bluegrass for gigs including the Beach House Reviews, folk and bluegrass festivals, coffee houses, and senior living. They are what down home bluegrass is all about.

The group also works with senior centers and local schools.

Old Arizona Brass Band
Frontier Military Brass
Performing Saturday 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

The Old Arizona Brass Band (Tucson's Historic Brass Band) was founded in Fall of 1996 by Ray Hicks to provide a living representation of the military and civilian bands that performed throughout Arizona during the period 1872 to 1912.  The group's music, uniforms, and  instrumentation reflect a transitional point between the all brass "over the shoulder" instrumentation of the Civil War years and the shift to primarily bell-front brass and expanded mix of reed and brass instruments of the modern day concert band. When you see and hear the Old Arizona Brass Band, you experience the real music of the military and town bands of the western frontier. The volunteer group carrys on the music of the 4th Cavalry Regimental Band of Ft. Lowell, Arizona Territory.

Tesoro’s songs are richly textured and beautifully complex while remaining completely accessible. The band features Justin Fernandez (Guitar) and Brian Scott (Guitar).

Zach Farley & Friends
World / Folk
Performing Saturday 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM

When Patagonia musician and instrument maker Zach Farley was 8 years-old, one event changed the course of his life. He took up guitar at a young age, that helped to fill the void in his life. Decades later, he's a musician, artist and craftsman making flutes, drums and guitars from gourds harvested in the field. “From seed to song,” he says.
