The ensemble features Roy Sandoval on guitar and vocals, Mark Sopeland on mandolin and vocals, Dale Knighton on five-string banjo (among other instruments) and Tom Edney on the upright bass. Their sets take listeners on an easy-going musical road trip from the high lonesome pines of Bill Monroe bluegrass to the cool waters of classic rock and country legends. Recipients of the 2017 NM Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, Keppeler and McLerie have learned from a number of revered traditional musicians in New Mexico, Louisiana and Arizona (thus, Bayou Seco). They present a rollicking set of dance music with chugging accordions, soaring fiddles and exciting vocals in Spanish and French. Bayou Seco's brand of Southwestern Chilegumbo – Cajun two-steps, waltzes, polkas and rancheras, chotis's, meringues and huapangos, and, perhaps a broom dance, is cross- cultural, multilingual and transcends labels and pigeon holes. Year round, you can catch them playing at bars, festivals, weddings, barn dances and RV parks throughout Southern Arizona. Partners band is Bonnie Starr on keyboard and vocals and Ted Bax on guitar and vocal. They fell in love with each other and their music on a cool November evening in 1994 when Bonnie was playing a solo piano show just outside of Bisbee when Ted walked in, and Partners Band was formed shortly after. During his 30 year career he has opened the stage for international giants of blues like Matt "Guitar" Murphy, Johnny Copeland, Van Morrison, Koko Taylor, Magic Slim and the Teardrops and even The Blues Brothers Band. Febbo & Fuentes (Bilingual Singer-Songwriters)
Baja Arizona Style Americana Mexicana Sunday October 13, 2019 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM Mark Anthony Febbo and Oscar Fuentes, both formerly of The Clam Tostada, are Tucson songwriters and solo performers both active in the local music scene in their own right. Febbo & Fuentes is a bilingual duo project; the two trade songs and accompany each other in an eclectic range of styles and genres. They have also recorded and released an album of Mark's originals in 2019 with Oscar leading the production, sound engineering, and recording, which was done at Oscar's TucSound Studio. The album is titled, Dry River Redemption. Oscar has released six albums (still in print) in Mexico and, in 2018, one in the United States, titled Bajo el Cielo de Arizona.
